JulieMay Lingerie Walks 25K for Breast Cancer Now

That’s a Brand on a Mission

In September 2026, the JulieMay Team set out to walk 25K over the Seven Sisters coastal path in aid of Breast Cancer Now. Having worked with women who have undergone breast cancer treatment and surgery, we decided we wanted to do something a little different to help raise awareness about breast cancer and show solidarity with our community who have been affected by this disease.

Raising Funds for Breast Cancer Now

We set off with a spring in our step knowing that though it would be hard, it would be absolutely worth the pain.

The day was glorious! Bright sunshine helped us along our way as we summited hill after hill, eventually reaching the iconic Seven Sisters cliffs near Eastbourne, where we were met by the dazzling white limestone cliffs of South East England.

By the 10K mark, our feet started to ache but we kept our spirits up by remembering that through this campaign, we were helping support the thousands of women and families who are affected by breast cancer every year, through education and vital research.

We chose to support BCN as they are directly funding millions into critical research to help eradicate terminal breast cancer, and because of the work we do at JulieMay, we care about women and their breast health.

Through our JustGiving fundraiser, we raised over £250 and donated a further 5% from the weekend revenue of our Ivory-Supportive Non-Wired Silk & Organic Cotton Full Cup Bra with removable paddings.

What Are the Signs and Symptoms of Breast Cancer?

One of the key factors for breast cancer recovery is catching it early. Checking your breast regularly and understanding what is normal for you, can be life saving:

  • A lump or swelling in the breast, upper chest or armpit

  • A change to the skin, such as puckering or dimpling

  • A change in the colour of the breast – the breast may look darker, red or inflamed

  • A nipple change, for example it has become pulled in (inverted)

  • Rash or crusting around the nipple

  • Unusual liquid (discharge) from either nipple

  • Changes in size or shape of the breast

You can see the full self examination guide on the Breast Cancer Now website. While self exams are an important factor for detection, if you feel there is something unusual, contact your GP for an appointment to get it checked.

It is estimated that 59,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK, making it the most commonly diagnosed cancer for women. While this figure is alarming, and knowing that 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed in their lifetime, it is also important to remember that 76% of diagnosed women have a survival rate of 10 years or more after treatment, though this is impacted by the stage of diagnosis.

Due to the intensity of these figures, it is no wonder that there is so much campaigning to educate women on how to detect early signs and to research better treatments.

While we walked and spread the word, incredible teams of support workers, nurses and researchers were doing their job to help create a brighter future for all women.

JulieMay Continues to Support Women's Health Education

At JulieMay, we hope to continue supporting women through different stages of life, including those navigating breast cancer treatment and recovery. With the launch of our new silk lined organic cotton pocketed bra, we’re taking another step towards helping women feel more comfortable and supported during their breast cancer recovery journey.

We’re proud to use our platform to raise awareness, destigmatize women’s health and support causes close to our hearts; Breast Cancer Now is just one of the many charities JulieMay supports.  Thank you to everyone who donated, supported our campaign or cheered our team on. Every contribution helped make this effort possible.
